Breaking barriers, building careers: A multilingual coaching program for a global tech company

Challenge:
A leading global tech company launched a career development and mentorship program tailored for Black+ employees in North America. Seeking to enhance employee retention, the company envisioned extending the program’s success to South America. The council recognized a significant disparity in Brazil, where the Afro-descendant population accounted for over 56%, but the representation of black+ employees was less than 10%.

Solution:
Designed a tailored career coaching program, focusing on individualized 1:1 coaching for 75 team members. Understanding the importance of cultural and linguistic variety, the program was thoughtfully developed in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, catering to the needs and preferences of all participants. A roster of multilingual and multicultural coaches was assembled to ensure a supportive environment.



Results:
The impact of the career coaching program was transformative. Clients experienced a shift in their perspectives, envisioning “new hopes” and new possibilities for career development and progression. Equipped with personalized action plans, participants reported increased clarity, reduced anxiety and newfound empowerment. This multilingual & multicultural approach not only addressed the challenges in Brazil but also set the stage for further expansion into other regions.

Sustainable procurement partnership program

Challenge:
A leading global tech company recognized the need to enhance its supplier capabilities to maintain a competitive edge. Despite having a rich network of suppliers, there was a gap between the current supplier performance and the skills needed to scale in their company. The client´s goal was to develop a custom supplier development program that would bridge this gap and augment supplier´s skills to meet evolving business needs.

Solution:
Ebenum Equation designed a supplier development program aligned with the client’s strategic objectives. The program began with discovery interviews with stakeholders to develop the in-person summit program. Three years later key components of the program now include:
• Stakeholder and sponsor interviews
• Live in-person summits
• Mentorship
• Roundtables
• Staff development and deployment


Results:
The supplier development program yielded significant results. Suppliers reported a deeper understanding of the company’s culture and way of working. The final report highlighted measurable improvements in supplier innovation, increased project size, and strong relationships with internal stakeholders. The program’s success has set a new playbook for implementation by other teams in the company. The spend in this category for the client with this cohort of suppliers over a three-year period increased by 5X+.

Empowering tech talent to succeed In interviews with confidence

Challenge:
The client recognized a need to better prepare rising innovators in the tech industry to succeed in technical and behavioral interviews. Participants often lacked the confidence and skills necessary to navigate the hiring process effectively and present themselves competitively for tech roles.

Solution:
Ebenum Equation designed and delivered an 8-week immersive program aimed at building interview readiness and participant confidence. The program included: Behavioral Skills Training: Covering personal branding, networking, and navigating the hiring process. Technical Skills Training: Focused on preparing for technical interviews, understanding industry best practices, and leveraging AI tools. Individualized and group career coaching, including mock interviews to simulate real-world scenarios.


Results:
• 93% of participants reported increased confidence in their ability to succeed in interviews.
• 90% rated their technical and behavioral interview readiness as strong upon completing the program.
• The program launched in November 2024, followed by a second cohort in January 2025.

Challenge:
A team of new millennial middle office managers needed team building, innovation training and leadership skill.

Solution:
The 8-week Leadership C.A.R. (Clarity, Awareness, Resilience) workshop with virtual delivery. The series included a lecture, personal mindfulness design, accountability partnership assignments and leadership skills practice.

Results:
The leaders became more resilient while pursuing shared goals and objectives. The team’s KPI increased to best in class benchmarks. The accountability assignments led to cross functional networks that strengthen professional relationships and cooperation. The team learned to bring their highest selves and capabilities to each task. Navigating relationships and challenges became opportunities to engage with integrity.

We help teams punch above their weight class to KO revenue growth targets. For example, an underperforming sales team completed the year with 30.7% YOY growth, which the client directly attributed to our methodology and support.

Challenge:
Senior management team under transition and sales team underperforming compared to plan.

Solution:
Executive Coaching for Team Lead and MBTI Appreciating Differences and Innovation workshops for the sales team. An Internal Performance Mastermind was started for the entire team nine months after the first workshop.


Results:
After one year, 16% organic growth and 14% inorganic growth compared to previous year. Open communication, innovation and collaboration became the benchmark for this team. There was a profound shift in the energy brought to closing the gap between baselines and each desired outcome.

Challenge:
Design an innovative and effective Education Program

Solution:
Invite the left side of the brain to engage in the conversation using theatre as the catalyst. Amplify the education through research-backed training curriculum that explores the Gray Zones that leaders wrestle with everyday.


Results:
Capacity to understand AND identify concepts such as microaggressions while building an inclusive leadership toolkit. Participants had 100% engagement in the program. A clear new shared framework for all participants to navigate Gray Zones in a powerful and effective way.

To create a competitive R1 team that would drive cutting edge research to tackle the leading cause of death in adult US citizens (opioids participants).

Solution:
Design palliative care coaching program for front line research team and provide continuous leadership development support since 2017 to consistently increase capacity and resiliency. – Worked with visionary to increase their leadership presence and effectiveness.


Results:
Budget increase by 4400% in 4 years – 230% increase in personnel – Coveted award grant by NIH Papers published 2019-4, 2020-11, 2021-19, 2022-6 accepted, 4 under revision, 18 on deck.

Address critical development and team resiliency challenges. Turn company leaders into coaches under one cohesive, organizationally aligned methodology.

Solution:
Deployed internal Leadership Academy accreditation program to enhance leadership capacity. – Redesigned essential skills development to match today’s VUCA environment and BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, Incomprehensible) teams for the 2030 era.



Results:
Successfully increased by 25% the internal coaching cadre in 4 months. – 100% cohort participants became ICF accredited coaches. – Significant ROI as trained cohort integrated and shared knowledge with the rest of the organization. – Participants were equipped with the necessary tools to create a psychological safety environment for their teams and help the organization increase capacity and resiliency during the endemic.
